Through an ongoing collaboration, Cognis, Dusseldorf, Germany, has licensed two additional product candidates from InterMed Discovery (IMD), Dortmund, Germany. One functional ingredient shows promise in the area of weight management and the other has potential heart health benefits. Cognis has now licensed two active ingredients supporting weight management from IMD; both have exhibited positive results in vitro and in vivo. Extract development has been finalized and subsequent safety studies are underway. The heart health product candidate has shown interesting efficacy results in vitro and Cognis plans to carry out preclinical studies later this year.
